Device compatibility

Know what works before you deploy.

Hardware is bought once and lived with for years. This page says what the platform targets and, just as importantly, what has not been verified.

Players and platforms

Playback

  • Android player

The player Layarva deployments are built around. Confirm the specific device model with us before ordering in quantity.

    Supported
  • Browser player

A stable display URL opened in a modern browser. Useful for a screen driven by a PC or a mini-PC.

    Supported
  • Windows player application

Used for Windows-based screens and for the operator and kiosk stations.

    Tested
  • Layarva Edge unit

Deployed per site. Sizing depends on how many screens it serves — ask us.

    Supported
  • Smart TV built-in apps (Tizen, webOS)

There is no Layarva application published for these platforms. A TV of this kind can still be used as a display driven by a supported player.

    Not supported

  • Full HD portrait — 1080 × 1920

    Supported
  • 4K landscape and portrait

    Supported
  • HD — 1280 × 720

    Supported
  • Custom canvas sizes

For video walls and non-standard displays. Performance depends on the player driving them.

    Supported

Queue hardware

  • Thermal ticket printer

The kiosk prints through the operating system's default printer, so a printer Windows can print to can generally print a ticket. Confirm your model with us first.

    Tested
  • Kiosk station

A touch screen running the kiosk page, with or without a printer attached.

    Supported
  • Operator counter station

Any device that can open the operator console.

    Supported

Network

  • Cloud screens over the internet

    Supported
  • Edge over LAN or Wi-Fi

Screens and the Edge unit have to be able to reach each other on the local network.

    Supported
  • Offline playback with no connection

Content is prepared through offline content export. Management still requires connectivity.

    Supported

No specific television or player model is listed as supported on this page, because a model is only supported once it has been tested with the current player. If you have hardware in mind, send us the model and we will tell you what we know about it — including when the answer is that we have not tried it.

Send us the model before you order.
